Psychiatry

The Psychiatric Professionals provide an initial consultation with the Patient in order to identify the Patient’s diagnostic picture. Diagnosis is a thorough and detailed process, carried out by a medical professional with a postgraduate specialization in psychiatry, following up to date international guidelines and classifications (e.g. DSM, American Psychiatric Association) reflecting stringent diagnostic criteria shared by the international scientific community (WPA). Detailed feedback is provided to the Patient and treatment options are also discussed in depth.

The Psychiatrists at the Venosta International Studio of Mental Health have a long, culticultural experience in Italy and abroad within highly specialized hospital and research units, and are dedicated to providing a patient-centered treatment program. Treatment can include a sychopharmacological regimen (medications) according to official medical protocols and follow ups throughout the whole duration of the treatment. Liaison with the Patient’s GP or other specialists involved is also undertaken, if appropriate.

Individual or couple psychotherapy can also be provided, if advisable, as some of the psychiatrists within the Studio are also licensed as psychotherapists.

Some of the Psychiatric Professionals are also trained as Forensic Psychiatric Consultants and provide expert opinions both for the Juvenile and the Civil Courts of Law in Milan.
